CLAUDIA SANTIAGO AREAL WAS BORN AND GROWN UP IN LAUFEN, GERMANY; A SMALL, BUT WUNDERFUL, TINY TOWN ON THE BAVARIAN-AUSTRIAN BORDER.
THE WORKSHOPS OF THE PARENTS – THE FATHER: JOINENER, AFTERWARD GOLDSMITH, UP TO NOW ARTIST – THE MOTHER; SEWER – BOTH SKIING TEACHER - WERE A BRILLIANT FIELD FOR EXPERIMENTATION WITH ALL IMAGINABLE AND UNIMAGINABLE MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES INBETWEEN ARTS AND CRAFTS.
A BASICLY APPRENTICESHIP AT THE GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN SCHOOL OF WOOD AND DESIGN WAS THE PERFECT BASE FÜR A CREATIVE FUTURE.
NETHERTHELESS, CLAUDIA SANTIAGO AREAL STUDIED INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AT THE MUNICH ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS. 2002 – AFTER 10 YEARS AS A FREELANCER CLAUDIA SANTIAGO AREAL FOUNDED HER OWN STUDIO.
SINCE 2010 SHE IS TEACHING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION AT THE MUNICH MASTER SCHOOL OF JOINERY.
CLAUDIA SANTIAGO AREAL IS SPECIALIZED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE, FURNITURES AND ACCESSORIES SWINGING BETWEEN ENJOYMENT AND FUNCTION. JUST RECENTLY SHE IS CONCENTRATING ON THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAKING OF CONTEMPORARY PAPER BAGS.
